The Scoop Factory Pounds On. Ignore its Deep Probes and you Might Loose Thousands.

By Malcolm Stacey | Saturday 5 October 2019

Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.

Hello, Share Sweepers. There are loads of websites and newspaper columns advising on which shares to buy and even sell. But I know of none that warns us of the scores of dodgy companies listed in this country. Except this glittering website. And nobody reading its deluge of scoops which arrive in a constant stream can be unimpressed by the diamond quality of the investigative journalists we have here.

I wonder if you realise the risks of not supporting Shareprophets.com? You may read all a company says about itself and finds the claims are backed up in the balance sheet. You could read in other ‘journalistic’ outlets that the firm is heading for the stars. You may have had shares in a company for years and done alright.

But in the words of the Les Mis song: ‘the tigers come at night’. Incompetent or greedy directors can suddenly turn a successful firm into a drain of shareholder’s money.

Leaders of shaky companies can be adept at spin. As my learned colleague Steve Moore constantly points out what seem like positive statements sometimes disguise awful truths, usually that demand, profits and orders are falling fast.

There have been occasions that a staid analyst like myself has suggested that a share may be worth buying. I produce strong arguments why this might be so. Then before the article is published, Tom Winnifrith rings up. He knows the people behind the company intimately and he gives me an opportunity to spike the article and choose another firm.

He doesn’t compel me to drop the piece. But, knowing Tom’s encyclopaedic knowledge of the share game, only a fool would ignore the facts. The accuracy of all the writers on this unique website is such that few libel lawyers would take them to court. Even so, they exhibit rare courage in publishing their investigations.

So, though it’s of no personal benefit of me, I respectfully ask: why not take advantage of our investigators’ sterling services for 2p an article? You could save thousands. Remember gang, your losses matter more than profits. If you can curb the losses, the profits take care of themselves.

And now let’s care for ourselves in the Punter’s Return. God bless.
