There is amazing value to be had in this year’s World Cup. The draw for the group stages has put together some extremely exciting pairs, but overall the quality of many of the sides is statistically much closer than the FIFA ranking system suggests. I’ve completed a thorough analysis of the teams in this year’s competition and it looks to me like there will be plenty of draws over the next two weeks. For punters this is a dream. Most people don’t bet on draws and the odds offered by bookies are often far more appealing than backing a simple win. Starting today, I will write a piece each time a fixture (or fixtures) catches my eye. My goal is to be a number of points to the good, by the end of the group stages, as I explain below.
