Presumably, when we resume trading, we’d have technically proven Tom Winnifrith wrong, ie, he claims we’re all doomed and won’t resume and we have done. So does that potentially open the door, in legal terms, to pursue Tom Winnifrith for defamation? I believe it can result in a fine and a prison sentence if convicted. There’s considerable evidence of defamatory remarks and actions by TW (understatement of the century) so surely we’d have enough evidence to have him convicted, fined and locked up? He must have surely breached slander/defamation laws? And if he hasn’t, all i can say is he sails extremely close to the wind. He’s far too sure of himself to get away with it forever, sooner or later, the law of averages says he’ll trip. And probably in spectacular style. Fully deserved too. And the sooner it happens, the better. After that, we should pursue online trolls who have been posting defamatory remarks on the bulletin board for the last 16+ months.

As any fule no, defamation is a civil tort, not criminal, so no fine, and no prison sentence.
The best defence to any libel action is to prove truth, so he will also fail on that rather important test.
And finally, as Tom has repeatedly said he has no assets, having tucked them safely away from any litigation risk, even if the judge did dose off through the entire 5 minute defence by the foxy legal team, Phil and his mates would end up with £0 damages plus £0 costs.

This competition has lost its way. The best posts have been from bears taking the piss or just made up.
Posts need to be current and not based on a few months of hind sight.
Maybe it is time to put the completion in abeyance until there is a significant new event that opens up a whole new vein of moronism on the BBs.
Recent caption competitions have been far better entertainment value – the current Jabba one is generating some great lines. The polls, when not rigged by Manchester based former bank robbers to promote their own failing Blog, are generally good value too.

All the best ftse 100 companies have debt problems. As long as you have high net asset value is the main thing which AVN have. The problem with most AIM companies is they have very little in the way of NAV and end up making serial demands on investors which AVN don’t. If they were doing that then you would have to worry.

With an EGM coming up to oust the board and a placing needed, what more reason could they have to mislead investors?
Ambiguous use of cash available and enough to meet operational needs, but does not say in the Nomad verified RNS how long for. It is the paid for research note that gives the hyper accurate forecast figure for net cash – not net current assets at the end of the year. D & D knows how AIM works, yet he behaves like a typical BBM of FJET.

Having had a couple of minutes to think about that last find I’m beginning to wonder if the joke isn’t on us. I mean, there isn’t anyone outside of an enclosed institution who would actually say something along the lines of “Thank God for our Board of Directors; they’ve suspended/ de-listed our shares for the foreseeable future (two months…two years…) and thereby kept us safe from the current vagaries of the world’s markets”, or stuff along those lines.
I reckon these guys are playing us at our own game and, as a sort of inverse kudos, are actually VYING for the accolade of Twit of the Month.
