As you may remember the lyin’, tax evading fraudster Julie “lingerie on expenses” Meyer MBE, currently avoiding the Police in Malta where she faces criminal charges, has tried to rebrand by dropping references to Ariadne ( her main ponzi empire) and promoting the name of Viva Capital LLP. Uh Oh – a new problemo has emerged. Oh dear Julie…it never rains…..
Viva has, of course, not filed accounts since the period to March 31 2015. They showed cash of nil and some aggressive accounting with regard to accruals as you can see HERE.
But now Julie faces a different problem. An LLP is a structure which pays no tax. Instead its members draw down the profits and they pay tax personally. I rather wonder if Julie thinks that part applies to her given her arrears with and lies told to both the IRS in America and HMRC in the UK and, now, it seems with the Maltese taxman. But I digress.
The point is that an LLP must at all times have at least two members and it seems that on 4th April Julie’s former PA resigned as a member as you can see HERE. Natch Companies House was only informed this week but by law with just one member Viva would cease to be an LLP and become a sole trader operating under a new tax regime. If Julie has neglected to inform HMRC of this she need not worry as I have alerted them today.
But it does rather beg the question as to whether Julie has any friends at all left in the UK? Who would not wish to be a business partner of the woman once able to boast that she was “one of the 30 most powerful women in Europe”, an MBE, a party guest of Dave Cameron and Vince Cable, a question Time panellist, a member of the great and the good? Surely Julie not everyone has forsaken you?
