Should Bacanora investors hold or sell their Zinnwald Lithium shares?

Now that the acquisition of Bacanora Lithium (BCN) by Gangfeng has completed, many former shareholders will be wondering whether to keep hold of the shares they were awarded in Zinnwald Lithium (ZNWD) as part of that deal.

SHOCKER: Eurasia Mining high trading volume into classic pump looks convenient for forward selling of today's placing!

The recent share price movement on Eurasia Mining (EUA) looks even more dodgy now in light of today’s announcement of a placing, and I would be surprised if there hasn’t been some forward selling going on.

DFS Furniture – Sofa Workshop, a bad case of ‘sofaeconomics’

DFS Furniture (DFS) has updated that “after careful consideration, we have decided to sell Sofa Workshop to Halo… Following the disposal, the group will benefit from the reduction in the cash costs of funding Sofa Workshop’s operating losses, elimination of the potential volatility in the profitability generated and it will allow the group to focus on executing the significant value creation opportunities in its core activities”…

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Will Asimilar be the much deserved Waterloo of Chris Akers? This stinks!

I start with a brief discussion of Rule Britannia where it is clear that the BBC and others (including the Mrs) have not actually read the words or studied their history. I will do a much longer piece on this when back from seeing my father in Shipston. I look at Asimilar (ASLR), All Active Asset Capital (AAA), Mesh PLC, and Chris Akers – a scandal where the unravel is surely underway. I comment on DFS (DFS) and furlough economics, on Iconic Labs (ICON), and on Amigo (AMGO) as well as on Xtract Resources (XTR), where there is yet more good news making you who followed my tip and I who bought shares even richer. Also covered is NoGold who has no gold exposure and lambasts me for tipping gold shares and making you all richer… even more of a miserable old git.

Still not excited by DFS and sofaeconomics

Back in mid-July I noted about the sofa stock DFS Furniture (DFSthat ‘investors can do so much better than this one’. This was driven by the view that ‘a world of more WFH might well be correlated with an uptick in sofa time in front of the TV, but it is not helped by higher unemployment or an enhanced difficulty in paying back those monthly charges on those oh-so-easy-to-obtain four year interest free credit deals’. Well blow me down…DFS has only gone and upped its hopes…

DFS – love the profit granularity...but little else

If you read everything but the first couple of lines of today’s trading update from DFS Furniture (DFS) for its year to the end of June, you might think that everything was kind of workable for the sofa company. Apparently online order intake is up 77% year-on-year between the 23rd March and the 12th July, whilst in the physical showrooms - post re-opening - demand was up 69% between 1st June and 12th July. Sofa frenzy! Of course though, the reality is captured in those first two lines of the update...

Oh come on DFS, we know why you are really raising money...

There is raising money to survive (see the regulatory update today from Aston Martin Lagonda (AML)), there is raising money to underpin growth opportunities (see my write-up on Abcam (ABC) a couple of weeks ago) and there is raising money because you are a cyclical business and need to build a buffer. The latter category is going to be the majority of names which raise money over the next six or twelve months…and this includes sofa company DFS Furniture (DFS), which states today that 'the Company is preparing for a possible non pre-emptive equity issue of up to 19.9% of its existing ordinary share capital'...

It's not easy out there retail special: Dunelm, DFS & ASOS

Lots of updates out there in the troubled retail space. Troubled for all the reasons we see, know and read about...but, of course, not completely uninteresting. So time - in the words of the greatest value investor out there - to ‘get greedy whilst others are fearful’?

DFS - how much cash flow is down the back of its corporate sofa?

Over fifteen years ago I think to remember going to my local DFS (DFS) and really irking the salespeople by paying for my sofa upfront and in full. Clearly I am financial illiterate as I should have taken up the four years free finance and whatever other inducements were thrown at me at the time...but regular readers will know I am no fan of debt at any level.

DFS Furniture – earnings “at the low end” of a range given less than two months ago...

Following a June profit warning which saw them down to 200p, shares in DFS Furniture (DFS) had recovered to above 230p. They are currently though back below 220p on a “Post-Close Trading Update”

DFS – profit warning, but reckons growth expectations for next year are still “realistic”. Hmmm…

“Trading Update” announcement from DFS Furniture (DFS) includes that “we believe our expectations for the next financial year are realistic”. The shares are though currently more than 20% lower at around 200p, with the announcement also updating that “the trading environment has however recently weakened beyond our expectation, with significant declines in store footfall leading to a material reduction in customer orders”. Uh oh…

Kefi Minerals - revised DFS published - look at NPV! BUY

Kefi Minerals (KEFI) has published a new DFS ( Definitive Feasibility Study) for the Tulu Kapi project - its first since 2015 and its last before it completes its financing needs and heads towards the construction of an open pit gold mine in Ethiopia.

Xtract Resources – Guess it must stand for Damp F***ing Squib

Hallelujah! Xtract Resources (XTR) finally managed to issue the long-awaited DFS at 4.23pm on 28 February. It’s taken me a bit of time to comment on it as I’ve been scratching my head thinking to myself: “Is that it? Is there a page missing? What now?”

Xtract Resources – For the love of God, where’s this bloody BFS?!

Further to my last piece two weeks ago HERE on the cash challenges facing Xtract Resources, it announced a ‘keep the lights on’ placing of £220,000 on 21 December pending the authorisation of 9 billon shares at yesterday’s general meeting. All as expected but where, oh where is the goddamn BFS (or DFS or whatever Colin wants to call it)? As yet another deadline is missed, I thought I would provide a helpful overview of the quest for the mining equivalent of the Holy Grail.

Sirius Minerals DFS - Chat with Chris Fraser CEO

Shares in Sirius Minerals (SXX) have slipped back sharply since the annnouncement of the DFS for the North York Moors Potash mine. They now trade at 15.5p. But then then a slew of gushing broker buy notes pre the DFS pushed the stock up a lot. I personally would not get too fixated on short term movements.

Armadale - DFS arrives but what is needed is the funding

At long last Armadale (ACP) has published the DFS on Mpokoto. The market seems unimpressed and the shares trade at 2.75-3.25p. A number of things stand out.
