As we marched on Saturday, the Rogue Bloggers discussed this and that. As he sobered up, even Lucian Miers joined in the conversation, and asked whether he should short Avacta (AVCT). The answer is yes, and here is why.
I discuss today's minor triumph regarding the rule-breaking Tory Toff, Earl of Shrewsbury, and if inflation is not hitting some of us. I look at Vast Resources (VAST); Avacta (AVCT); in much more detail, Amur Minerals (AMC); and finally, Argo Blockchain (ARB). There was no Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks training walk yesterday, as I was aching so much from 10 hours gardening on Saturday. Instead, I did another eight hours gardening, here at the Welsh Hovel. I will post some photos later. Please enjoy my suffering, but do not remain amongst the 97% of listeners yet to donate. Please donate - if only a fiver or a tenner - today, HERE.
In today's podcast I forgot to thank those who have donated to Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks over the weekend. I thank you now. But c98% of listeners have yet to donate. I am sure you can manage a fiver or a tenner please do give now HERE. Then I answer a call to sack me for a Staceyesque "crime" and discuss Jubilee Metals (JLP),Yooma (YOOM), Love Hemp (LIFE) and the utter cretins at Aquis Regulation, Vast Resources (VAST) and Avacta (AVCT).
Some ShareProphets articles are marmite, in that it's good for you but not very popular. Other ShareProphets artiicles are, well, marnite, in that they cause widespread, viceral disagreement. Here are the twenty stories that ShareProphets readers read and read with Julie Meyer featuring in four of them. Ms Lingerie on Expenses sure is box office.
I start with thoughts on changes in the divorce laws, then discuss: Canadian Overseas Petroleum (COPL); Sosandar (SOS), Avacta (AVCT); and finally, in detail, Victorian Plumbing (VIC).
I start with a personal reflection, as it is my late dad’s birthday. Then onto the wider scandal, highlighted by my expose of Canadian Overseas Petroleum (COPL). I discuss Avacta (AVCT), Supply@ME Capital (SYME), and how long one can defy gravity, before concluding with a detailed look at the numbers behind Moonpig (MOON), where, I suggest, shares will head much lower.
Apparently, the chap from the FT may object to me reminding those at the April 5 Woodford event that his paper, like the wretched Mail on Sunday, Daily Mail, Sunday Times et al DID suck Woodford’s PR cock. Elsewhere, I discuss Red Rock Resources (RRR); Skibiotherapeutics (SBTX); Amigo (AMGO); Avacta (AVCT); Inspirit (INSP); and Mirriad Advertising (MIRI).
The gardening photos from the Welsh hovel will appear later on my own site. Before then I review the 4 retail stocks of the Lucian Miers apocalypse: Versarien (VRS), Supply@ME Capital (SYME), Eurasia (EUR) and Chill Brands (CHLL) and then my 10 stocks to collapse by Christmas. One has fallen so far it is probably not a short now though I would not buy it while three look set to go to zero, possibly as soon as next week in one case. My 10 are Supply, Chill Brands, Versarien, Avacta (AVCT), Wildcat Petroleum (WCAT), Amigo (AMGO), Cineworld (CINE), Argo Blockchain (ARB), Verditek (VDTK) and Tern (TERN). I also look at the oil price and consider whether those sitting on gains might bank a few profits.
Happy St David’s Day and happy pancake day. I start with the spread betters and Russian stocks notably Petropavlovsk (POG), Eurasia (EUA) and Polymetal (POLY). Then I look in detail at MGC Pharmaceiticals (MXC), how it legged over investors in November and is a massive short even now before turning to Vast Resources (VAST), Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO), Cellular Goods (CBX),Novacyt (NCYT) and Avacta (AVCT) my big sector short which has seen its shares collapse to 46p but could easily halve again within weeks.
These are the most-read articles and most listened-to Bearcasts of the week. The most-read article non-Tom article is once again by me, the ShareProphets Sunday Pub Quiz #128. The most-read non-Tom, non-Darren article is Thar’s Gold in Greenland’s Icy Mountains and this Fiesty Firm’s Out to Exploit it by Malcolm Stacey, making a welcome return to the leaderboard at number nine or number 16 including Bearcasts.
I want to be 100% transparent with you so I explain why, as of 8 AM today, Peter is no longer a member of this parish after apologising for yesterday’s poor sound quality for which there was a good reason. I look at two shocking economic statistics and what they mean. I then cover: SkinBiotherapeutics (SBTX), Bluebird Merchant Ventures (BMV), AEX Gold (AEXG), Novacyt (NCYT), Avacta (AVCT) and Cake Box (CBOX).
Small stake-building by a French Covid tester in Novacyt (NCYT) saw its shares surge yesterday and that prompted jumps across the sector. Over in Bulletin Board Moron land the talk was of merger mania sweeping the sector. I hate to disillusion you guys …
In a long podcast I explain why the climate has changed so making it a year for the bears and then explain the common thread and individual reasons for my top ten shorts for Christmas 2022. The terrible ten are Supply@ME Capital (SYME), Tern (TERN), Avacta (AVCT), Versarien (VRS), Chill Brands (FRAUD), Amigo (AMGO),Cineworld (CINE), Argo Blockchain (ARB), Verditek (VDTK) and Wildcat Petroleum (WCAT)
I mention briefly events at Omega Diagnostics (ODX) but that is covered largely in a seperate bearcast HERE. Then it is onto the new big covid test short Avacta (AVCT) and why our own esteemed PL is talking cock. I cover Anglesey Mining (AYM) and what its news today really means. Then a long look at Osirum (OSI). Obviously it is a worthless POS but what does its deeply discounted placing today mean for YOUR portfolio?
I shall be recording a special podcast outside of the paywall later for shareholders in Omega Diagnostics (ODX) for they have been well and truly mugged, but not by me, and must be spitting nails this morning as it finally fesses that everything I have exposed on this website was true.
Early this year we showed the shorted AIM shares at the start of 2022. How’s the performance (those in bold remain from 2021) as at the end of the first month?…
These are the most-read articles and most listened-to Bearcasts of the week. The most-read non-Tom, non tip-of-the-year is Is it time for me to sell my Barclays shares by Chris Bailey.
I name all those shareholders or their BB or Twitter names that Union Jack Oil (UJO) is using shareholder cash to troll in a most thoroughly unpleasant way as I exposed yesterday. I also comment on THG (THG), Cineworld (CINE), Tintra (TNT), Versarien (VRS) and then on the bursting of the Covid testing bubble with particular reference to Omega Diagnostics (ODX), Avacta (AVCT) and Novacyt (NCYT) which has its own BIG question to answer. Plus, of course, MyHealthChecked (MHC). I reference vaccination and covid rates in Israel in the podcast which is covered in more detail HERE.
Oh dear. How sad. Never Mind. The Covid testing bubble is bursting and an admission this morning from Avacta (AVCT) is even more of a disaster than a 27% share price slump suggests. This collapse is only just beginning and will spread across the sector, so completely vindicating we cynics of stocks such as Abingdon (ABDX), Omega Diagnostics (ODX) and others. As a bear, preparing to crack out a celebratory ouzo, Let me explain.
Hello, Share Changers. Some folks regard this old punter as old fashioned. Even though I own a hybrid car; petrol and coal. And my old-fashioned view is that Friday’s mini crash is nothing more than an opportunity to top up our shares. Stacey’s Law says such corrections are usually an excuse for big traders to sell stocks only to buy them back at reduced prices.
Hello, Share Scrumpers. As Uncle Tom kindly reminds you from time to time, I’m of a great age. This leaves me prone to a few minor health issues that require small-time surgery. But I have to endure discomfort until the covid-ravaged waiting lists at my local hospital push me to the top. But what has this to do with buying and selling shares?
That wasted an hour of my life but it looks like all systems go for Saturday when Steve Moore will be in charge of this website while Joshua and I head to the Greek Hovel. In today’s podcast I look at bitcoin’s latest dump and Argo Blockchain (ARB) and at Dev Clever (DEV) and its joke acquisition. That required a bit of work for me at Companies House as did researching today’s smoke and mirrors deal from Remote Monitored Systems (RMS) – how did Nomad SP Angel sign off on this cobblers? I then look at Avacta (AVCT), Zoetic (ZOE), MyHealthChecked (MHC), Bidstack (BIDS) and the fraud Supply@ME Capital (SYME). Where are its results?
So a Ukranian-born oil and media bloke tops the Times rich list with £23 billion. It makes that £200 quid you made on Avacta (AVCT) look a bit anaemic doesn’t it? Second was and third were property brothers David and Simon Reuben .Their assets grew byt £5.46bn to £21.46 billion .
Hello, Share Trusters. One of the most uncomfortable aspects of our great game is ‘The Big Decision’. That’s exactly when to buy, sell or hold. We can be driven mad. My son has a portfolio worth £1500. Not much, unless you’re just starting on a career path when losing a few hundred quid can be tragic. He decided to sell his biggest winner this week: the very speculative Avacta (AVCT).
Hello Share Chompers. One of the more difficult sectors to call on this august website is in the covid-testing game. Of course, there are loads of aspirants to the title of being a good tester, but perhaps Avacta (AVCT) is the most covered. It certainly attracts a disproportionate number of posters on other websites, some of whom are in the hopeless optimist category…
Yes, even MyHealthChecked (MHC) where I am a shareholder should have its shares suspended. The reason is a webpage which went live yesterday and which is now being widely discussed on social media which seems to show that the Government is soon to announce contracts worth £8 billion for covid test suppliers. This is going to cause share price mayhem on Monday.
Hello, Share Seekers. It’s never easy to suggest another look at a share which Uncle Tom has criticised in the recent past. But sometimes a company becomes a bit more promising, even if it’s just because the share price continues to hold up. Remember always that the trend is your friend. I fancy the following company might still be worthy of support, but only as a short term play at current prices…
We still have three days left in 2020, so Tom may pull out a spectacular Bearcast that disrupts this list. Barring that, these are the fifty Bearcasts that delighted and infuriated ShareProphets members the most. You free riders have no idea what you are missing out on
Concepta has announced a change of name to MyHealthChecked (MHC) and, more interestingly, jumped on board the Covid testing bandwagon. I am, as you know, a sceptic on many things relating to a disease where 99.95% of those under 70 recover and where the average age of death is, at 82, one year more than UK life expectancy. However…
Today, from AstraZeneca (AZN) and the City of lost causes, we have news on a third vaccine against Covid-19. There will soon be a fourth and a fifth and at some stage lots of folks will ignore concerns about potential long term side effects to get vaccinated against a disease which kills 0.05% of those under 70 who catch it. And a bedwetting world can breathe a sigh of relief and, even idiots like Matt Hancock, will realise that we will not need mass testing and we can get on with our lives.
As you may have gathered I have been a major sceptic of Government policies on Covid and not just in the UK. For a disease where the survival rate among under 70s is 99.95% and where the average age of death is greater than life expectancy itself, it seems to me that the policy response has been excessive and has caused and is causing utterly unjustified collateral damage. But none the less we should all welcome news that Pfizer has a vaccine which works 90% of the time.
In today’s bearcast I report on a sad conclusion to the story I told of the potential suicide on Saturday HERE. Then on to Avacta (AVCT) and Manolete (MANO) before considering five PI darlings which could see their shares utterly crater before I turn 53 on January 12: Supply@ME Capital (SYME), Novacyt (NCYT), Versarien (VRS), Bidstack (BIDS) and Eurasia Mining (EUA). In each case I explain the potential catalyst for the collapse.
Hello Share Splurgers. I approach today’s subject with trepidation. The reason for my hesitancy is that Uncle Tom has roundly criticised the chances of this company to benefit shareholders in the long run…
Does anyone know this Ian Roy Duncan? He seems unhinged but I receive emails, like the one I read out in this podcast, more or less every day. Ian owns shares in Supply@ME Capital (SYME) and I discuss that particular Norfolk and why you have to be truly thick as two short planks, as Ian is, to own after today’s news. I also look at Verditek (VDTK), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), Red Rock Resources (RRR), Zenith Energy (ZEN) – for whom I have a question – Avacta (AVCT) and ValiRX (VAL) where the valuation, even after today’s fall, looks bonkers after trial data which I discuss and analyse.
Hello, Share Punters. As I attract more readers for them than other shares I review, allow me to update you on two companies that Uncle Tom Winnifrith hates for all the many reasons he’s often outlined on this glittering website. I refer to Avacta (AVCT) and IQE (IQE)…
Hello Share Peckers. As a private share trader, there are two ways to play the Covid outbreak. One is to assume all ships rise on the tide. And that as the virus will go eventually, we just need to sit back. The other is to take advantage of the scary volatility of some stocks at the moment. In other words to buy on the dips and sell on the jumps. So what will you do?
It is now only four days till my 7th wedding anniversary. Given my track record, I reckon that merits a round of applause. After you have finished the applause, I will apologise to Mr David Lenigas. If I have ever given the impression that he is a shameless ramper of worthless penny stocks, having considered his recent tweets on Wishbone Gold (WSBN) where my losses are now down to a mere £27,500, I would like to apologise. I now accept that Mr Lenigas provides quite brilliant and clear analysis of undervalued gold juniors and we should be profoundly grateful for his services. Elsewhere, I look at Avacta (AVCT), Novacyt (NCYT), Scancell (SCLP), Rurelec (RUR), and Amigo (AMGO).
Hello, Share Testers. Let’s have a bit of fun looking at Avacta (AVCT) again. This share is like an irritable fly buzzing around my head. We all know that the company looks hugely overvalued, that is if you strip out the possibility of the company being involved in some major testing operation. Uncle Tom has famously attacked the chances of this ever happening. Yet the share price is quite resilient…
I start with a few notes on Covid hysteria, referring you to my earlier piece on perceived death rates HERE but also to research showing how pointless wearing face nappies is HERE. I look at R4E (R4E) and how Richard Jennings asks me to explain why Dr Green’s valuation of Bluebird Merchant (BMV) is a joke. I am a Good German and oblige. The shares, which I own, are – I believe – very cheap, but the analysis of Green is piss poor. Indeed it is so piss poor that the journalist-smearing old bastard should be fired at once. I look at Watchstone (WTG), Quindell as was, and its £63 million claim against PriceWaterhouseCoopers filed in the High Court today. I shall happily give evidence for PWC. I comment on Avacta (AVCT), Versarien (DOG), and Red Emperor (RMP).
Hello, Share Graspers. Truth be told I’ve just had a pretty poor week. One of my biggest investments, the futuristic battery maker Ceres (CRW) has continued an unexplained fall. It began when a big fund sold about 5% of the shares. Though as I opined at the time, that was understandable and no reflection on Ceres. This was a fund that buys interests in bargain companies and comes out as a matter of policy when the shares have a bumper rise.
Even where the Government is testing like the blazes to cover its arse and con us into believing that its coronavirus response was sensible and proportionate, it is struggling to find cases. In the new 'hotspot' of Blackburn where there is mass testing, the cases are just 77 per 100,000. Of those found posititve, nearly all of them are asymptomatic so would not have known they had Covid had they not been tested. This testing is not saving any lives.
Thanks for your kind words on MineProphets, the videos will stay up for another six months HERE. I will be doing another MineProphets show on December 5. This podcast looks at the dynamite mea culpa from PHE and why that makes it game over for Avacta (AVCT), Novacyt (NCYT) and the other coronabollocks stocks. Then I look at the naivety of Suzanne Evans and the political/media class about capitalism, creative destruction, housing, commercial property and job losses.
Hello, Share Monkeys. It’s the weekend of the Shareprophets big mining online share show. As it costs only £2.99p for access to the best mining experts in the investing business, I would urge anyone hoping to make money from one of the most exciting branches of the golden game, to part with this nominal amount to take part. As well as being an area where you could make the most money in the shortest time, it’s also, well, a minefield and you need the best info you can get.
Our response to Coronavirus divides us ever more. I argue that wrecking the world economy will cause untold misery and was the wrong response to a virus that largely polished off fplks who were already on St Peter’s short list for a fairly imminent interview. For this I am branded “irresponsible” by one reader today while others accuse me of callously wishing to deny many more years of happy and active life to their 95 year old grandparents or parents. So what if deaths across Europe are falling to sod all, the lockdown jihadists warn of an imminent second wave. But deaths, even in the US, are falling. This pandemic is tailing off which is a problem if you are Avacta (AVCT)
Forgive me, dear readers, for returning to the matter of the great Coronavirus bubble but data came out late Thursday from the ONS which screams at you that it is about to pop.
Hello, Share Speakers. It’s a while since anyone on this amazing site, referred to Avacta (AVCT). But it still remains one of the biggest talking points in the share world. It’s one of those covid related stocks, which like most of them, goes up and down a lot every day. Uncle Tom is very bearish on Avacta, but I notice that unlike some luckless companies, it’s not being shorted too much.
Sorry this is late. I have been distracted by the mad world we live in so musing too much on www.TomWinnifrith.com and tomorrow Joshua and I try to bust out of lockdown Wales, like the - now erased from history - Dukes of Hazzard, to visit my Dad so limited copy from me then. Ahead of that I discuss Avacta (AVCT), Versarien (VRS), Sound Energy (SOU), Cineworld (CINE) whose managers I despise, and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). Okay I am not firing Darren tonight, you can now book your MineProphets tickets HERE
With shares in Avacta (AVCT) ludicrously overvalued at 138p the company rightly fears that when the second tranche of stock from the recent placing at 120p is admitted to the AIM Casino tomorrow there will be a line of folks wanting to flip. What to do? Of course, get your evil morally bankrupt PR spinners at Yellow Jersey to issue complete non news and make it sound exciting. Heck Yellow Jersey managed to persuade suckers to pile into mega and obvious fraud Frontera (FRR) so they can push any shite uphill. For a while at least.
The most read non-Tom article this week is Possibly the Most Difficult Decision in Shareland at Present...Avacta by Malcolm Stacey is at a fulfilling number five or number 12 including Bearcasts and Tom's new shareshow.
Hello, Share Swashers. As the page views show, interest in the Avacta (AVCT) saga remains very high among the elite group of Shareprophets subscribers. Judging by the bulletin boards on some lesser websites, interest is also keen if often laughably optimistic. Allow me to give you an update on this most volatile of virus-related plays...
As I explained in some detail in my first new video show three weeks ago, Novacyt (NCYT) senior managers, notably CEO Graham Mullis, are massively incentivised to ramp the shares as hard as they can up to October 17. If they achieve peak ramp they will clean out the company’s cash reserves, leaving the PLC gasping for breath as they shout “Ching! Ching! And buy top of the range Porsches.” The full scheme is explained HERE
I see that Barry “The Tit” Gibb at broker Turner Pope has produced a gushing note on Avacta (AVCT ) today. Maybe that will help a few more Turner Pope clients to flip the stock they got in the recent 120p placing. Or maybe The Tit just wants a distraction from wittering an about Tomco (TOM), shares in which remain suspended although it has, today, been forced to admit that its RNS that accompanied a Turner Pope placing yesterday, contained a massive porky. Back to Avacta, when your cheerleader in chief is “The Tit” you know it is right to be bearish.
We have now hit £48,000 with gift aid for Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks so I thank you all. In today's show I look at Novacyt (NCYT) and Avacta (AVCT) and sticking with the corona bubble theme at Primark and shopping today and the problems furlough is now creating. I look at Metro (MTRO) and then finally at the big news from BP (BP.)
The most read non-Tom article this week is Commercial property update: Intu's on standby, Workspace believes by Chris Bailey is at a thrilling number three or number nine including Bearcasts and Tom's new shareshow.
I start with a few thoughts on history as I chat at length to my old teacher. Then it is onto the campaign to scrub Joshua's hero, Chase, from history. Finally I discuss what I shall be doing in, I fear, the rain from 4.30 AM tomorrow. If you have yet to donate to rogue bloggers for Woodlarks please do so as we are now wiothin spitting distance of raising enough to ensure it survives. Please give just a tenner with gift aid ( or more) HERE. Then I look at US Covid 19 data at Avacta (AVCT) where there is a dual threat to the share price and at Novacyt (NCYT) where implosion is accelerating. Finally a detailed look at IQE (IQE).
I start with a few thoughts on a local statue that looks set to be melted down but commend my piece earlier on Thomas Guy in the same vein. I bring you the good news that No Gold is alive then discuss Intu (INTU), Frontera Resources (FRR), Avacta (AVCT), the merger of Bahamas Petroleum (BPC) and Columbus Energy (CERP) and Anglo African Oil & Gas (AAOG). Finally we are now almost at £40,000 on Woodlarks (with gift aid). If every bearcast listener yet top donate chipped in £10 plus gift aid tonight we would hit target. Please, please do so HERE.
Another 12km training walk with my daughter looms and the little snowflake is bound to bleat as the skies darken. I will not enjoy the rain much either. So, as I suffer, please donate that tenner (or more) you know you want to give to Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks HERE. I look in detail at Sosandar (SOS), Mercantile Ports (MPL), Avacta (AVCT), Novacyt (NCYT) and Open Orphan (ORPH) setting new price targets for all three and then discuss the crooks at Telit (TCM) as the FCA concludes its corporate enquiry.
When you have just raised £48 million of dumb money you cannot turn around a week later and scream SUCKERS! No. You have to pretend that the reason your shares raced away and that the fools piled in greedily is still valid. But it is not, and at some stage, Avacta (AVCT) will have to admit as much.
You may not like my joy at Donald Trump beating crooked Hillary Clinton in 2016 but I called the vote correctly and explained in detail how and why I thought The Donald would win. It matters big time for equity investors who wins the General Election in November but also who triumphs in House and Senate races. I offer up my first detailed thoughts. Then I look at Amigo (AMGO), Intu (INTU), Novacyt (NCYT), Avacta (AVCT) and Open Orphan (ORPH). Finally, we are now at an amazing 65% of our keep Woodlarks alive rogue bloggers appeal target. With my big walk now just 5 days away thank you to those listeners who have donated. To those who have not please do so HERE.
Hello, Share Isolators. The question of what to do with Avacta (AVCT) shares continues to be even thornier. The price exceeded 200p a week or so ago, then began a double-digit daily decline. Towards last week’s end it perked up again and at the time of writing is 157p...
I promise you pictures of my 99 now planted strawberry plants later and I also have good news from the orchard. Yesterday my daughter and I managed just 17 laps of the fields ( 20km) here at the Welsh Hovel for reasons I explain but I shall do 45 laps in six days time to raise the £48,000 Woodlarks needs to survive. We are now at 64% of target, please, please make a donation HERE. then I look at the insanity gripping equities. I am now turning less bullish and explian why, looking at Hertz, Intu (INTU), Avacta (AVCT) and a number of other situations. I refer to my premium video with Matt Earl here.
Hello, Share Tasters. Once again, I’m in the unenviable position of holding loads of shares in a company that Tom finds to be overvalued. When this happens I tend to dump most of the shares, as Tom has a surgical mind and I’m an instinct man. Yes, it may be an instinct based on centuries of daily share dealing experience but you have to consider what cold analysts like Tom think too. I hold shares in Avacta (AVCT)...
I start with a few thoughts on the protests and riots following the murder of an African American man by a cop. I offer up some hard data which makes me ask whether the riots can be justified. I stress that, as someone who goes to sleep with a person of colour every night and with a mixed race son, I do think that black lives matter, including those six black lives now taken by US rioters . I comment on Woodlarks where we are now at 55% of target so please please make a donation today HERE. Then I look at Avacta (AVCT), Novacyt (NCYT), Intu (INTU), President Energy (PPC) and Curzon Energy (CZN).
A week ago, Malcolm Stacey could have sold his shares in Avacta (AVCT) at more than 200p each. In fact I think the old trading genius might just have done that. Then the company started “sounding out” investors about a fund raise and, not that anyone in London ever breaks insider dealing laws so this is a total coincidence, the shares started tumbling fast. As I write they are off by 5p at 132-5p as it has announced am up to £45 million fund raise at 120p. I don’t blame it.
Today's training walk is with my daughter and is almost 12 miles. In burning heat and with my MAGA cap on which us luck. Please donate to Woodlarks here. In today's show I warn you that you MUST sell all the corona testing plays NOW. Then I look at Intu (INTU) - a great selling opportunity - and then at one of my worst share tips & investments for which I apologise to all, Wishbone Gold (WSBN).
We are now at almost 33% of the way to our Rogue Bloggers (well just me) for Woodlarks target. Today I do 11 laps of the fields here in a training walk, so please donate ahead of that ordeal HERE. In the podcast I discuss Gervais Williams, Avacta (AVCT), Novacyt (NCYT), Supply@ME Capital (SYME), Amur Minerals (AMC) and Fox Marble (FOX), with whom I am very cross indeed. I also look at British Land (BLND) which I inadvertently refer to as Land Securities (LAND) in the podcast and commercial property in general.
Hello, Share Fielders. A few weeks ago, Uncle Tom did the sums and pronounced that the valuation of Avacta (AVCT) after some spectacular share rises was ‘bonkers.’ If it was bonkers then, it must be mega-bonkers now as the price has risen relentlessly whether the action is justified or not and is now above 200p. When I first commended it to your researches it was less than 20p, but can this potential bubble stay unpricked for a bit longer?...
Excluding ShareProphets Radio 29, the most read non-Tom article this week is To Buy or To Sell Avacta? That is the Question… by Malcolm Stacey at a enviable number eight or number 15 including Bearcasts.
Hello, Share Shifters. I find myself on the horns of a horrible dilemma. And once again, it’s due to Uncle Tom Winnifrith. He has written a couple of immaculately researched pieces on this legendary website warning that a company in my portfolio is overvalued. Indeed, he says the valuation of medical pioneer Avacta (AVCT) is 'bonkers'...
I start with my excitement about the video I have just recorded with Carson Block of Muddy Waters for the Shareprophets shares show. Lawyers alert!. It was brilliant stuff. I end by saying I recorded a PLC video for the show earlier. I am incredibly tempted to buy the shares heavily. Anyhow both videos and 70 others will go live on May 9 so book your ticket HERE. In today's podcast I look at Novacyt (NCYT), Avacta (AVCT) fake news in the Mail on Sunday, Urban Exposure (UEX) and in very real detail that old Thirsty Paul Scott fave TrakM8 (TRAK) where today's numbers ring massive alarm bells.
I start with the defamatory and anti semitic blog attack on me from Bidstack (BIDS) owning loon which I rebutted yesterday HERE. I have now identified the author who is not as "she" claims a female investigative journalist but is a male Bulletin Board Moron. I shall expose his identity and also his close social media links to Bidstack boss Lyin James Draper, which "she" has been trying to hide this weekend, later. When, I wonder did "she" last swap ideas with Lyin' James? Then I look at the prick which will burst the Coronavirus testing bubble on AIM. If you own shares in Novacyt (NCYT), Avacta (AVCT) or any of the other Covid test plays watch out! Finally, I am in despair at smug Sam Smith of FinnCrap (FCAP), La Horlick and various other women determined to see taxpayers cash spunked by Rishi Sunak on gender quota lines in his start up bailout scheme. This is insanity laid upon insanity. There is no such insanity at the ShareProphets Shares Show. I am busy making recordings for it every day now, please do book your seats for May 9 HERE
Excluding ShareProphets Radio 28, the most read non-Tom article this week is The man who predicted minus prices for oil asks where to next? Lower the only option?... by Peter Brailey, at a fantastic number four or number 11 including
I start with me reporting myself to the FCA as supporters of fraud and or corporate lying act like clowns once again. I discuss quite how scandalous it is that Legoland owner Merlin should get a cent of taxpayer cash. Then it is onto Avacta (AVCT) and gold stocks. Should we be banking gains? On the former I suggest yes on the latter I think not but offer a few notes of caution. Today is a day when I really start recording videos and podcasts for the ShareProphets Shares conference. I have just done a stormer with James Delingpole. It is now just two weeks away so book your seat now HERE.
Hello Share Plodders. It’s all beginning to look more optimistic don’t you think? A human trial for a vaccine started at Oxford University. Many more tests being rolled out. The number of sad deaths down. More countries easing themselves out of lockdown. New research shows the virus can't stand summer temperatures. So many good signs, that you may be surprised shares are still languishing.
Hello, Share Spanners. A look at the daily trades for a recent recommendation of mine has recently shown quite a bit of profit-taking going on. But I’m hanging onto my shares because I think the upward action is far from over. And indeed Avacta (AVCT) is up by another 25% on its latest news...
Hello, Share Trundlers. A few days ago, I suggested a small medical pioneer might see a share rise because of its association with a substitute for human antibodies. This proved to be a correct assumption as the share has doubled since then.
Hello, Share Scramblers. My series of predictions of shares which may rise faster than others once the outbreak reaches its peak, today features Avacta (AVCT). This is one of my favourite biotech companies, though the share price hasn’t exactly sparkled over the years. So why might this share be of interest once it's safe to buy shares again?...
Hello, Share Breakers. It’s rare that I return to the same share shortly after a commendation. But for this company, I’m coming back a third time in fairly short order...
Hello, Share Speakers. If you’d acted on my Avacta (AVCT) commendation yesterday you’d be up by nearly 20% already. But I still think there’s a chance to make some more on this interesting share. What I didn’t have time to analyse yesterday was the latest trading update – which makes jolly reading...
Hello Share People. It’s all looking chipper for medical pioneer Avacta (AVCT). When Tom interviewed me fairly recently for his scintillating radio podcast, I gave this company the dubious award as my favourite penny share. And so far, luckily, I am proving right. The latest news is pretty exciting and, as I write, has propelled the share up by 15%...
Hello, Share Greeters. One probably goes on a bit too much about one’s long-held belief that a monitor investment in a pocket pharmaceutical venture can reap huge rewards very quickly. At the same time, we must acknowledge that a medical share can fall like a lead anvil from a church tower when, for example, a line of research comes to naught.
Hello Share Makers. A company which I often return to because I think the potential is enormous is Avacta (AVCT). This is a Leeds-based medical pioneer which is developing artificial antibodies in the treatment of many serious conditions. The shares have just jumped on plans for a major study...
Hello Share Turners. There were loads of small companies hoping to attract your attention at the legendary Global Group UK Investor Show at the weekend. And it’s likely they wouldn't expose themselves to your criticism if they were not confident in their future. One of a phalanx of medical pioneers which takes a stand every year is Avacta (AVCT)...
Hello Share Twiddlers. There are few times I’m moved to revisit shares I’ve only recently commended. But occasionally the case for a company’s rosy prospects is so interesting that there’s justification for looking at the latest news. Avacta (AVCT) is a medical pioneer which I chose as a tip for 2019 on this wonderful website over Christmas. So much has happened for this Yorkshire firm lately that it’s hard to keep up with events...
Hello Share Charmers. So far, one of my pair of 2019 official tips on this magnificent website, Avacta (AVCT) has been charging ahead. But I think the success story could only just be starting. A trading update just released is firmly positive...
Hello Share Swashers. This may be the first time I’ve written three wall-to-wall articles about any company. But yet more positive news has broken from Avacta (AVCT), the medical pioneer. And I think it makes considering this interesting share even more compelling...
Hello, Share Pickers. Occasionally, limits of space curb doing justice to a share I’ve high hopes of. This was the case with Avacta (AVCT), which I dragged to your attention this week. Allow me to add two further aspects to my view of this thrilling share...
Hello, Share Dollies. One of those shares which never does much, despite what seems on paper to be a promising future is Avacta (AVCT). It's a maker of vet's stuff and also has a big interest in affimers, which are a substitute for antibodies for human medical research and diagnostics.
Hello, Share Planners. It’s been a while since I’ve revisited Avacta (AVCT), the firm looking at substitutes for antibodies in the great war against disease. But I’ve had two imperatives to look again at this interesting share. The first is that Avacta is also interested in treatment for animals and I had a sad journey to the vets today.
Hello Share Blasters. On the road in the grim north, I don't have access to the usual research channels. So allow me to review a trio of shares I've scanned in more detail recently, but which I believe have not so far taken full advantage of the current Santa Rally.
Actually I am in Greece on December 4 or at least on my way home after the olive harvest. But, in return for a small donation to Woodlarks, I have agreed to record a video from the Greek Hovel with a few market thoughts and a couple of share tips for Christmas.
Hello, Share Squashers. As the usual boring summer for share shifters drags on, with hardly any exciting action on the Footsie front and most penny shares at a standstill, we all struggle to find spare value in any stocks at the moment. I’m keeping faith with most of my old faithfuls, even if some of them, like Photo-Me (PHTM) and Feedback (FDBK) seem to dither around without adding any value. This is possibly due to the time of year, as many traders are away for the school holidays.
Hello Share Takers. It’s ironical to call Avacta (AVCT) one of my favourite shares when it has only made a modest profit for me so far. And it’s taken a long time to do that. But it does seem to me that this medical pioneer is onto something. And a little talk with a couple of its big cheeses at last month’s stunning UK Investor Show strengthened that feeling.
Hello Share Screamers. We all know that investing in medical pioneers is a risky area. I’m still smarting from my losses with Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO) whose woes are under constant critical surveillance by Uncle Tom. But I believe that all share players have a bit of a duty to support selected medical pioneers. Think how much real suffering you will alleviate if the products being tried really do come off.
If the Prime Minister does a fraction of what she promised in her big speech this week, we can see shares soar like a stone from a ballista. But talk is cheap. However, as I’m not a cynical soul, there was the odd thing said which gave me hope - and I’m talking about my personal share portfolio. But I expect we hold a lot of sectors in common.
Hello Share Raisers. One share which I bracket among my stronger tips for 2017 is a company which provides diagnostic tools for vets. But its real potential, I believe, is in something called affimers. These are rather a mystery to me, but seem to be a substitute for antibodies. These, as we all know, fight disease.
As I noted in bearcast yesterday I remember my old pal Mark Watson Mitchell tipping ASOS (ASC) at 7p. The shares hit a high of c£70 so that was a 1000 bagger for anyone who got their timing spot on and held. I doubt anyone did. But could there be another ASOS lurking out there on the London Stockmarket and if so what is it?
Hello Share Twirlers. I’m indulging myself lately by featuring a few of my picks that are doing rather well at the moment. The last one we looked at was IQE, the electronics pioneer, which has been rattling ahead after a rather poor period, when I’m glad to say, I managed to hold my nerve. Now the share seems pretty perky. Today’s success story is Avacta (AVCT).
On the day of the big Brexit vote, the best shares for me to bring to your notice are the ones which staying in or coming should make no difference. One company which fits this bill and which has just made an exciting announcement is Avacta (AVCT). I have brought this life science outfit to your attention before. And so far not much has happened to the share price.
Hello Share Sliders. When I chose four shares to recommend to my student son Jack three weeks ago, he did his own research. Then he decided my suggestions were ok and piled in. He had £1,000 to play with, money he’d saved by chamber maid-ing at the holiday flats next door. So that was £250 in each company?
As you know, if we mention shares on here we cannot trade for a few days. That’s in case we get all enthusiastic over a company and then sell it during the supposed rush to buy, such as Avacta (AVCT).
I’m more than ever convinced, gang, that companies which are pushing at the medical frontier may boldly take our share portfolios to higher plains where they’ve never reached before.
As the big shares all decay, as I write, due to the Greek woes, the penny shares are, as usual, largely unaffected. And some of my large stable of cheapie are doing well enough to offset the disappointment in my Footsie collection.
The Summertime Blues seems to have hit shares again. That old adage about going away in May is no longer true. But the fact remains that the old share game goes off the boil between June and August.
A year ago, I had three beautiful cats. Now I have only one. In between, came some agonising trips to the vets to try and save two lives. It was not possible in the end, though of course my family did everything they could to postpone the inevitable.
