Notes from Underground – Most read articles for the week ending 9 March

By Darren Atwater | Sunday 10 March 2024

Here are the most read articles and the most listened-to Bearcasts over the past seven days. The most read non-Quiz, non-Tom article last week is Steve Moore with Jaywing – “the lenders remain extremely supportive”. Er, do they really?… at No 2 or No 10 including Bearcasts.

The most-read ShareProphets articles this week were:

  1. Kefi placing & a Primary Bid offer you really should take up at 0.6p. FYB
Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI) was in talks with a financier to tide it over until the bank funding for Tulu Kapi arrived but time pressed on and so, after hours there is an RNS. There is a placing and a Primary Bid offer to raise up to £6 million at 0.6p, the shares closed at 0.78p. After then there should be no more dilution at a PLC level and the shares do look very cheap so take up that offer TONIGHT at Primary Bid, registering HERE.

  2. Jaywing – “the lenders remain extremely supportive”. Er, do they really?…
“Marketing and data science business specialising in integrated marketing and risk and data consulting”, Jaywing (JWNG) has made a “Trading update, Loan Facility and Strategic Review”-titled announcement and the shares have currently responded up to 3.55p. However, a strategic review tends to mean current difficulties and a company not knowing what to do about them, so what’s the story here?

  3. The Convicted Felon Lord Ashbourne on Kefi
For what it is worth , the convicted felon Hooray Henry Charlie Gibson, Lord Ashbourne to you dirty oiks, has, at Edison, published a new research note on Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI) suggesting huge upside. It reads:

  4. Memo to a Paranoid Lemming: your posts are not censored on this website but you are less important to me than my daughter! How post approval actually works!
Lemming investor seems a bit paranoid. Yesterday, he, furiously, accused me of censoring his posts on Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX) here and then when they all appeared he said that this was only because he had exposed me as a free speech denier. When I explained what actually happened he told me to fuck off. Facts, it seems, do not matter to the paranoid.

  5. Bluebird Merchant Ventures – progress in the Philippines and more on the way in South Korea, Strong Buy
Bluebird Merchant Ventures (BMV) has announced the appointment of a Philippines-focussed environmental consultancy for the Environmental Impact Study of the Lobo high-grade gold mining opportunity within the Batangas project joint venture in the Philippines and that it looks forward to reporting the milestones as the work progresses.

  6. Science in Sport – “Trading Update”. Er, what about the 2024 outlook against expectations which dare not speak its name?
There is an announcement, titled “Trading Update”, today from Science in Sport (SIS), but which also has a headline “Fundamental Change in Operating Model and Restructuring of Cost Base”. Hmmm, as is usual, is that because trading isn’t going well?

  7. Meet Homophobic and paranoid Bulletin Board Moron of the week Lionel Kipper who is long and strong Chill Brands
Lionel posts on the Chill Brands (CHLL) board on ADVFN almost obsessively. He has three themes of which the first is that as the shares sink lower and lower, what an ever greater buying opportunity this presents. The second…

  8. Martin Eales, once of Ironveld and Rainbow Rare Earths: Note to Future Employer – Read Here
In the words of many an aged music superstar, “Mr Karma” (think Blofeld!) is making a return for “one night only” to alert any company that is mad enough to contemplate employing Martin Eales once of Rainbow Rare Earths (RBW) & Ironveld (IRON) in any Directorial capacity. Answer - Don’t!

  9. PepsiCo owned Doritos trumps Bud Light in #Gowokegobroke as it hires a paedophile brand ambassador
I kid you not. You might have thought that the liberal arts graduates in marketing departments across corporate America would have learned from Bud Lite's collapsing sales after it hired the annoying trans activist Dylan Mulvaney as its brand ambassador. But no, Doritos, Mexican style crisps that taste of cardboard, has gone one better with its hire of the ‘transgender artist’ Samantha Hudson, formally known as Iván González Ranedo, as its brand ambassador in Spain in a sponsored program called “Crunch Talks.” Samantha is not just trans…

  10. The ShareProphets Sunday Pub Quiz #230
It's time for the ShareProphets Sunday Pub Quiz.. There are no prizes! And remember, no Googling!

The most-listened to Bearcasts this week were:

  1. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast:I apologise to you all re Kefi, Laying Nikki Haley & Michelle Obama, buying The Donald
Prompted by this piece on my own website, I discuss betting on the US General Election, then it is onto Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI), Vast Resources (VAST), Argo Blockchain (ARB), Harland & Wolff (HARL) and BSF Enterprises (BSFA).

  2. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Feeling Guilty about Food and no saying sell does not make me a wealth destroyer
I discuss feelings of guilt towards food after yesterday. And how I am trying to deal with that today. Then, I am afraid, it is back to Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX) and Optibiotix (OPTI) and the mad idea of the attack gerbils that I am actively engaged in wealth destruction.

  3. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Who is lying to me today?
I am feeling rather unwell so that is it from me for today, a slightly short Bearcast. In it I revisit the Budget from the wretched Tories, the wretched response from Labour and thus conclude that you should teach your kids Chinese, Hindi or Arabic. I look at Tiraputi Graphite (TGR) and corporate governance, Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI), Bluebird Merchant (BMV) and Investment Evolution Credit (IEC). And now to bed.

  4. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: 2 stocks I tipped get bid approaches, where will I put my winnings?
In today's podcast i start with my poor health and end up with a note about the rugby tomorrow. Come on Ireland! In between I discuss DS Smith (SMDS), Mattioli Woods (MTW), Legal & General (LGEN), Centamin (CEY), Amaroq (AMRQ) and Tirupati Graphite (TGR)

  5. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Capita is still Crapita
I start with the budget and i am not impressed.at all sorts of levels. Then it is the US elections and I hope that you laid Nikki Haley as advised earlier in the week as she was thrashed on Super Tuesday and is now out of the race. Then Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI), Chill Brands (CHLL) and Capita (CPI) - the data relating to the podcast reference to Islamophobia and Anti Semitism is HERE

  6. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Oi Andrew Bell it's time to ask Dave Lenigas for our cash back!
In today's Bearcast I look in detail at lessons from the Rosslyn Data (RDT) scandal, I cover Uru Metals (URU), Versarien (VRS), ICG Longbow (LBOW), Ben's Creek (BEN) , surely a zero, Dispensa (DISP) and Red Rock Resources (RRR). I remind you to register HERE with Primary Bid just in case.

  7. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: the rugby, base rates/mortgage rates Optibiotix and those feckers from Yorkshire
The podcast starts with my, improving, health, a divided family watching the rugger soon, base rates and mortgage rates and then finally Optibiotix (OPTI) and those feckers from Yorkshire. Apologies to Nigel Wray for all sorts of things in this podcast.
