Why Shell and BP Shares Aren't Surging Is a Mystery to me. But You Might Want to Invest in Case the Dam Bursts
Hello, Share Collectors. Recently, I suggested that big oil companies might be undervalued. Since then the case for that view has strengthened. There seems to be even more reasons to buy shares in these companies, or at least to keep holding them.

Xeros Technology – interims, “significant milestones with a number of market launches taking place”? Er...
Previously writing on Xeros Technology Group (XSG), in July with the shares higher to 232.5p I concluded at that juncture still a jam tomorrow avoid / sell. The shares last closed at 200p and the group has today announced results for the first half of 2021, emphasising “significant milestones with a number of market launches taking place”. So why are the shares currently at 185.5p?…

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Is it because they think I'm English I asked as Wrexham Council came visiting?
I put them straight that I was of Irish descent but my local village council are having a go at me again and so sent in two officers of Wrexham Council. To be fair, they agreed with me and think the villagers are, again, acting like total poltroons in harassing me whereas the previous owners were allowed to dump asbestos and whatever they wanted. I explain all in the podcast but suffice to say I am angry. Then I look in detail at Tern (TERN) and go far further than Lucian did earlier HERE. Then onto Union Jack (UJO) where nothing now makes sense. I also look at the crazy world of Wildcat Petroleum (WCAT) once more and add my tuppence worth on the scandal that is Seraphine (BUMP).

Argo Blockchain US fundraise is at just 109p - no wonder ELEVEN brokers managed to get it away
Yes, you read that correctly, the US ADR placing of Argo Blockchain (ARB) involved ELEVEN different brokers. Jefferies, Barclays, Canaccord Genuity, Stifel, GMP, Compass Point, D.A. Davidson & Co, Ladenburg Thalmann, Roth Capital Partners, finnCap and Tennyson Securities are the team batting for Argo and will no doubt boast that they raised £82.4 million having targeted just £75 million. But…

Tern stinks, AIM Regulation must act NOW!
I have identified Tern (TERN) previously as a compelling short as nothing it says makes sense, the stated NAV is about 9p at best and the shares are 19.25p. But that NAV is bogus! The main component of NAV ,just over 50% is a holding in Device Authority but there is a bombshell out there Tern is not telling folks about. Device looks to be insolvent.

Seraphine – BUMP’s shareholders with a warning on trading…having only listed in July! IPO roll-call of shame...
A “Trading Statement” announcement from Seraphine Group (BUMP), a maternity and nursing wear company which only listed on 16th July. Should be fine then, a mere just over 2 months since listing…

Sports betting and the worlds of Entain and Playtech
The first time I mentioned shares in the international sports betting and gambling company Entain (ENT) it was known as GVC and we knew it best for brands such as bwin, Coral, Ladbrokes, Foxy Bingo, Gala, partypoker and PartyCasino. But I noted back in July, whilst you could make positive chat about the then European football championship, on the growth of its BetMGM exposure ‘the US is playing catch-up given a lot of online sports gambling has only recently been allowed’. You can call if right or wrong, but that is a 2020s reality.

Union Jack Oil – I have lost faith
Union Jack Oil (UJO), has be one of the most frustrating share listed on AIM as it holds so much potential within its UK onshore oil and gas asset base. But with any microscale oiler looking to establish a profitable future you have to have to believe in what it is doing, and the shenanigans over this latest placing is the final straw for me. The risk reward balance has now tipped the wrong way and I have lost the faith.

Wildcat clears decks for bailout placing and it is now being forced to tell the ghastly truth
Make no mistake, a bailout placing is underway at Wildcat Petroleum (WCAT) as revealed in yesterday’s bearcast. Today, a new adviser to replace disgraced Pello Capital, currently banned by the FCA from doing any business, has forced it to come clean so that it can place.

Football Should Generally Be Avoided by Investors, but this Scottish Club Might Be Worth a Highland Fling
Hello, Share Blasters. I’m now venturing outside my comfort zone. Knowing now’t about football, and caring less, I thought you might like to take a look at Celtic plc (CCP). It has of course been battered by covid, but this massive headwind is falling away now.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Placing alerts on Union Jack & Wildcat Petroleum
I have an update on the Union Jack (UJO) placing which I forced it to ‘fess up to last Friday and I can now reveal that worthless ramp Wildcat Petroleum (WCAT) is now seeking fresh equity at almost any price. At 1p, a £21 million market cap is about £21 million too high in my book. I also discuss Jubilee Metals (JLP) and Mark Slater and that links nicely to an IPO I am dodging and I explain why I am passing on what appeared a likeable and competent team. Finally, a detailed look at perennial dog Mirriad (MIRI) whose shares are – despite slipping 10% today – still a stonking sell.

Pennant International – interims, “on course to meet expectations for the year”?
Previously writing on provider of technology-based training and support to the defence and regulated civilian sectors Pennant International (PEN), I concluded last month as the shares fell to below 30p ‘it argues it “expects to make an EBITA profit for the current six months to the 2021 year-end”, but that’s somewhat bullshit earnings and compares to a still market cap of £10.5 million. With, I suggest, there doubt on even those ‘earnings’ for the full-year considering the noted dynamics, I certainly currently continue to avoid’. The shares last closed at 26p, but are currently back up towards 30p on the back of half-year results…

Time for UK Oil & Gas and Lyin' Steve Sanderson to fess up on Turkey - twitter storm brewing
The twitter account @OutSanderson which wants to remove the grossly overpaid Lyin’ Steve Sanderson from his post as boss of UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) claims to have got hold of a series of photos from Basur in Turkey showing that on the ground nothing is happening. We were told after the most recent drilling failure that seismic would be shot in August before another sidetrack well is drilled. One tweet in this series is below. Perhaps Lyin’ Steve might update investors with a formal RNS on how much of a Turkey his Basur operations are and what, if anything,is happening on the ground.

Mirriad Advertising – interims note “advertising spending is now coming back”. Good news then… No!?
Previously writing on Mirriad Advertising (MIRI), in July despite the shares slumping to 34p I concluded the valuation looked to remain plain daft; strong bargepole / sell. The company has today announced results for the first half of 2021 headlined “New deals, significant inventory and record US commercial activity drive adoption”. Having last closed at 32.5p, the shares are now below 30p – so what’s the story?…

Chill Brands – Spooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooof
Appointment of strategic advisers shouted the press release. What, thought I, a strategic review to understand why sales are SFA and the company still can’t get it annual accounts out? Er no. The headline should have read “sales failing, more money spent on brand promotion but not enough cash to make a real difference.”

Is PZ Cussons a bad day buy?
I was a little bit busy yesterday and therefore could not write about the potential Stagecoach (SGC) and National Express (NEX) combination, as Tom noted HERE. Another time then for me rambling on about the reasons why the last decade or so has seen the latter go from being the hunter to the hunted. Meanwhile as for the Conservative Party Conference next month…I guess I could have gone but I will be too busy washing my hair. There is always another year I guess. It has been far from a boring week in the markets and certainly there are a couple of names that did report yesterday that I will add a few thoughts on over the next few days. Today however I want to talk about PZ Cussons (PZC).

Previously writing on “international digital chemistry data company” DeepMatter (DMTR), in June as the shares fell below 2p I concluded the revenue and jam tomorrow outlook looked insufficient for the valuation. Today half-year results so, with the shares currently further lower to 1.35p, what now?…

Igas – Diabolical Interims and Technically Insolvent: What’s Not to Like?
AIM-listed Igas Energy (IGAS) has reported its interim numbers to June 30 2021 this morning and despite tables covering EBITDA (bullshit earnings), adjusted EBITDA (double bullshit earnings), underlying cash operating costs (more bullshit earnings) and operating cashflow numbers (yet more BS) the bottom line shows that Igas lost another whopping amount and the balance sheet shows that it was technically insolvent. If this isn’t another trainwreck in the making then I’m a banana (to borrow a phrase from Ian Hislop).

Tom Winnifrith Bonus Bearcast: can anyone interpret my new nightmare, a Saint (Vin) and a sinner (Lucian) and his toxic 4
I am up early thanks to a new nightmare. Can anyone interpret it? Are you out there Joseph? I then look at saint Vin Murria and Summerway Capital (SWC). Then I discuss Lucian Miers big Joe Retail toxic four (Chill Brands, Supply@ME Capital, Tern and Eurasia), why things are going his way, which will crack first and why and what the fallout will be. A regular bearcast will follow later.
